General Data Protection Regulation

Data Protection Law in the UK changed on 25th May 2018. It is now called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Whilst there are a number of important changes under the new regulation, the majority of the data protection procedures previously used in schools are still applicable. Links are provided below for you to both find out more information regarding GDPR and our school documents. If you would prefer to receive any of this information in printed format then please contact the School Office on (01629) 822236 and this can be provided. The School’s Pupil Privacy Notice is reviewed annually and sent out to parents early in the Autumn Term. Our Data Protection Officer here at Middleton Community Primary School is Lucy Peacock who is also one of our School Governors and she can be contacted via the School Office.

This leaflet provides more information about GDPR in schools.

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) Your Data Matters provides advice and guidance on your rights.
